Paid Script validity

I'm planning to buy a script for AE, but I'm just curious: what happens if eventually I want to buy a better computer to work on, or have to format my current computer? Will I still get to keep the script forever, or will I have to pay for it again?

Thanks in advance

if you buy at aescripts, you can always download it again from your aescripts customer account and also retrieve the license from there. It is no problem to deactivate a license on one machine and activate it on another one. But this is only for aescripts.com - if you purchase somewhere else, ask the support of the respective shop for details.

By the way, only until Friday you get 25% off almost all products on aescripts if you use coupon code CYBER.

You will have to inquire with the script creator. Most of them don't have any restrictions because a) even the protection offered by compiling a JSX or creating an extension manager package is weak and b) most developers simply don't have the time and resources to maintain elaborate licensing and activation systems. They're just as glad you bought their product once. Therefore transfering your legally paid for license to another system or reinstalling it as often as you like at no extra cost should not be an issue 99.9 percent of the time.
