Pen tool invisible

Hello i have ran into a bit of a problem, i am trying to create a simple line in after effects with the pen tool but nothing is showing up, the line is basically invisible.. i have checked the fill, stroke and opacity settings and everything's okay, i have no idea what to do and i need this done asap! help is appreciated!

Using the Pen Tool you can also draw a mask

Make sure that Tool Create Shape icon is enabled
