photoshop file has no masks

Hi,

 

I am following one tutorial, where the guy imported PSD file with  a lot of masks embeded in it. But my psd layer has no such things!

 

The tutor later cut all those masks to isolate that for animation. 

Please help.

Well, have you actually created clipping paths in the PSD? doesn't look like it, as your squiggles appear to be just drawn with a brush, not by stroking vector paths. It seems you are misunderstanding the Photoshop part of the tutorial.

I drew with vector paths too. Neither showed any 'mask' in AE when I imported that psd into AE.

Seeing as you've got to this point, with your image inside After Effects, check out the Layer > Auto Trace as an option to create masks from your image
