Pictures in video

Hello! This is my first post

I'm sorry if this has been answered but I don't really know how to ask the question. I'm trying to make a video in which I take some pictures of heads of some people and place them over the heads of the people in the movie. Sort of like a parody video. My issue is, and I'm very new at this, that I don't know how to make the picture that I place in the video to disappear when I need it to or change its size.

For example, the video I'm using is a clip of the Emperor's death in Star Wars and I have the face over the Emperor in the first frame, but then the camera changes to look at Luke in the next frame and the face is just hanging there in the air. Then it goes back to the Emperor and its a close up shot of him and its too small.

I hope that was a good enough explanation, I'm sorry if this is beginner level but this is my first time using this software. Just trying to make some funny videos and such. Thanks for your help!

what you are describing will take experience to perform. no beginner stuff. you will need to track the head you are placing the footage over, then attach the new head to the old head. if you are lucky, it will cover the old head. if not, you will need to patch some of the background in those areas. this is entirely depended on the shot. if you have a shot, you can show it to us and explain what you want to do, maybe in some way you could pull this off yourself if the result is not so supposed to be that accurate.

I see there's a couple of head replacing/swapping tutorials in youtube, maybe you should take a look and see if that process appeals to you. just make sure you pick a good one by seeing who exactly is the author. anyone can make a youtube video so...
