Pin animation on a video map

Hi there,

I'm a beginner on After Effet and I'd like to make a very precise animation :

- Put a few animated map pins falling on a video map

The video is the following one : Vidéo libre de droit pour PARIS, FRANCE – SEPTEMBER 2016 : Timelapse over central Paris on a beautiful day with Eiffel …

and I have already created a cool bouncing effect on my pin in After effect. I just want to integrate it in a few locations of this panoramic view of Paris.

I simply wanted to know which would be the best way to do so, I have already made a few research on the matter and it appears that the tracking point solution is the best one I've found. The idea would be to create a tracking point where my animation is going to end, and repeat the operation for as many pins as I need.

Is there a simpler method you could recommand ?

Many thanks !

Flo

    Thanks for your answer Mylenium.

I've managed to do it by creating a tracking point on the map and then attach it to my animated pin (saved as .mov before).

    Here's the result : panoramic paris 2 - YouTube

It's more or less what I was looking for, now I'll just try to make the animation smoother and create other tracking points then do the same operation over the city.

There is no simpler method. The only way to make this more efficient would be to use an external tool that can track multiple markers at once, but that's about it. You'd still need to define the markers in teh first palce and then get your data back into AE.
