Playback / Preview suddenly only starts at the beginning of composition

Not sure what happened, but when I try to "Preview" within my composition timeline, it's only playing back from the beginning, regardless where I specify in the timeline. Appreciate any feedback, preview settings look normal. I'm using AE cc 2018.

    You know how you do a google search and nothing seems to come up? I used the word "workspace" + playback and finally found what I was looking for. Thanks for the nod in the right direction. It did help. 

    Check the "Preview" panel. There's a "From current time" option...

    Done.

    Let's clarify -- you DO know about setting the Work Area to your needs, correct?

    I'm familiar with various workspaces, but I am wondering if I toggled something accidentally.
