Playback screen goes blank when trying to use motion tracker.

Pretty much as title best ot watch video of issue. I can still hear the audio of the video when I am trying to play it back. I don't understand what is happening and is consistent even after restarting the app, computer etc.

Can you please share your system info? Like OS and version, CPU, RAM, GPU vRAM, Ae version? Thanks.

Yup!

Windows 10 home.  
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700 8 Core
RAM: 16gb (displayed in video)

GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 6gb vram.

After Effects CC 22.5 upto date.

What happens if you go back to the Composition? Does the preview come back? Looks like this clip was recorded on a phone. Would you mind testing it with footage recorded on camera?

Please try disabling Hardware Accelerated Composition, Layer, and Footage Panels in After Effects Preferences > Display.
