Poster frame in Essential Graphics panel changes to current settings when you click Export MGT

I ahove a motion graphics template ready to export for use in Premiere Pro.

Step 1: I want my poster frame to display a particular configuration of the available options, so I change those options and click Set Poster Frame. The image looks good.

Step 2: I want the default options to be different from those I used to create the poster frame, so I change the options accordingly. The poster frame stays as it was set and the Program monitor reflects the new settings. That's good.

However, when I click Export Motion Graphics Template, the poster frame automatically changes to reflect the default settings (step 2), not the options I set in step 1.

Why doesn't the poster frame respect the settings I chose when I export it?

This happens on AE 2021 and 2022 both updated to most recent versions.
