Question

Posterize Time plugin generated an unexpected exception

Hello everyone,

So, I'm having a problem here. I keep getting this error when I play the preview, and then AE closes.

I've searched the forums, but I haven't found anything helpful.

I also tried it on my laptop with the same project, and the posterize time was deleted from Effects, haha.

Any thoughts?

My configurations:

  • macOS Monterey
  • 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7
  • 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
  • AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT 8 GB

AE is updated.

Thank you!

I am moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for now.

Thanks,

Hello, John!

Sorry for the late reply.

I'm starting to think my graphics card might be the problem. It crashed again while I was working on another project and the first one was pretty simple.

Seems like it happens when I'm working with imported files from PS and AI.

My AE is 23.5.0

You can check out the files from my collect here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/buxl17wumy4ql0p/AAACjUyklbTfNr_Xqi1fqlLIa?dl=0

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

Hi @maria machado,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Would you be able to share a project file that demonstrates Posterize Time generating the unexpected exception? Also, what specific version of After Effects are you using when you encounter this issue?

Thanks for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,

I just removed the posterize time from the project for now because I really need to finish this job, lol.

But thank you for your answer, anyway. I'll come back later after testing your suggestion.

I'm not sure what's causing the issue, but I'd try rendering the Comp using Best Settings / High Quality, import that, add it to a Comp and then apply Posterize Time to that.  This way, After Effects it no trying to render anything except for the effect.
