Question

Postscript Fonts in 16.1.1?

Does anyone know if the latest version finally recognizes Postscript fonts? The most recent forum post I could find was January of 2019 and there was no reply as to whether or not it had been fixed in either AE or Premiere. I've been waiting to update both AE and Premiere because my company's main font is a Postscript. Help!

Thanks!

PostScript is dead and it won't be coming back. You better have your authorities buy OpenType versions of your fonts/ have them converted by a font designer.

I understand that and have already asked to buy them in OpenType. But, I have no idea how long it'll actually take to get that done. So in the meantime I was hoping AE/Premiere had decided to at least recognize the existing postscript font type. Do you know if that's the case with the latest versions?

No. All PostScript font code has been removed long ago, both in Adobe apps and in operating systems due to massive security concerns with such an outdated format. Sorry, but this is hopeless. If at all you might resort to older versions of Adobe software or OpenSource software like Ghostscript that have a native PS parser, but ultimately you can't evade the issue in the long run, even if you may be able to at least generate vector artwork for importing in AE this way.
