Pre-caching footage without playing back & waiting

Hello there,

I was wondering if there was a way to batch pre-cache all imported files. Playing back every file silently before being able to review it is about as inefficient as my old computer.

Caching happens at the comp level, so what would just arbitrarily caching all footage do? As soon as you'd add it to the timeline and something changes, AE would have to re-calculate everything. If you can't play it directly already using hardware acceleration, then caching does nothing to improve the situation. I think you are misunderstanding this and it would not solve whatever problem you have.
