Premiere Pro to After Effects dynamic link not working.

Question

Hey!

So I'm trying to link up a few premiere sequences to my main after effects file. However, when I change the sequences in PP, they don't update in AE. If I save the PP file, the sequences unlink within AE and I have to re link them every time meaning Dynamic Link isnt working.

I've looked everywhere online and the main issue seems to be running different versions. Both my installs are the latest ones, is this correct? or do they actually need to be the same version numbers?

I have listed my versions below.

After effects version: 18.4.1

Premiere Pro version: 15.4.1

Do I actually need a really old version of AE? (15.4.1) to match PP?

Driving me insane on such a tight deadline! any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Hey, I would say trying to use such different versions is probably not a good idea for comp links. You can always install a newer version of Premiere and keep the old one, so you can test this out. I have two versions of After Effects installed to open specific projects, for example.
