Preview issue with AE 2023 - only plays a few frames before stopping

Is anyone else having issues with Preview Playback in the 2023 Feb version of AE?
I have two machines and they both have the same issue in this new update. Big Fast PCs with plenty of Ram that now will often only play a few frames before stopping. I'm working with music and its pretty much impossible to use. Seems worse on big comps and temporarily fixed by purging / restarts but comes back after minutes. This is a new issue on this version.

Would you mind sharing the system specs of both the machines? Also, is it happening on the same project on both computer or all project are affected? Are there any thire-party plug-ins being used?
