Preview window is place, does not recognize alpha channel, occasionally crashes on render

When I pull in an image sequence or a single image, everything comes in black.  Nothing shows up. If I save it out and bring it back in, it sometimes has the images.  Images are very simple png with an alpha channel.  If I render a video, then only one of the images shows up.

 

Rendering also (occasionally) crashes the computer (threadripper, A5000, 128G ram, don't think the computer is the issue) giving erro 3.

I ended up saving it out and opening the project again and it worked.  Very odd.  Never had that issue before.

Hi Brian,

 

Sorry for your issue.

Does it happen with all the images or with this particular one? Can you test with a different footage in a new project? Also, try clearing cache and running After Effects in Safe Mode and see if it brings any change.
