Hi ATBZ,

Sorry for the frustration.

Could you share more details on what's happening? We're here to help. Feel free to share screenshots and screen recordings to help us understand the issue.

Thanks,

Hey, thanks for reaching out. I’ve been facing some serious slowdowns and responsiveness issues with After Effects for a while now. My projects are pretty heavy, involving 3D work. I’ve been relying on the Element 3D plugin for almost 15 years (since there’s still no equivalent in AE) and it’s been getting tougher over the years… I feel like AE is becoming less compatible with this workflow, but I don’t have much choice, and it’s part of my daily grind. Working with After Effects has been increasingly frustrating over the years, but given the lack of alternatives, we’re somewhat stuck with this software, which seems to get glitchier with every new version, sometimes turning into a nightmare (kind of like Acrobat). Anyway, yesterday, on February 8, 2024, I noticed all my After Effects renderings (mov, mp4, etc.) were dated February 9, 2024. And it’s just the render files, not the .aep files, which are correctly dated. I’m inclined to blame After Effects, but it could be a Windows 11 issue… I’m not sure. So, my question is, am I the only one experiencing this problem? It’s still happening today: the .mov file rendered this morning is dated tomorrow.

No wonder After Effects needs so much RAM if it now includes time travel!

I've not encountered that one myself, but I rarely render MOV files and even more rarely use the Render Queue (I know the pendulum has swung back to it, but I still prefer Media Encoder's options).

If you render an image / image sequence is it also dated day ahead?  Does the date modified correspond with the date created?

My best guess would be something in the Quicktime encoder - that's the final stage when a file is created.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
