Question

I'm currently in the middle of a personal project for self improvement. An associate of mine gave me the following vid The task is to add smoke trails on the jets, i tried using trapcode particular and parenting, however between the size of the jets, still, yet moving frame and curving in flight it is difficult. Are there any methods, tutorials, advice and recommendations that can be made to help me complete this task. Thankyou for your time.

If this short clip really is all you have, then no, there are no real alternatives. This is way too short for some 3D tracking and even then apparently the fence would make things a lot more difficult. This is really a case where manual matchmoving is the most efficient way to go about it, difficult as it may be already. All other (semi-) automated methods would ultimately fail or produce even worse results, fixing of which would require just as much or even more time than starting out manually right away.
