Project Setting for After Effect / Working Space and Media Profile selection.

Hello,

I've activated Color Management in all programs.  My computer monitor is calibrated to rec.709, 2.4 gamma, the gpu is set at 16-235 range and the custom ICC profile (rec709) is in the Windows system.  (final project for bluray hdtv)

In AE Project Settings / Working Space do I install sRGB  or Rec.709  or ?

When I use sRGB like in the photo above, my media files in the AE Project Window show different Profile names:

images show sRGB:

and film clips read HDTV 709, 16-235  Or they read "Rec.709 Gamma 2.4" OR some read sRGB

Shouldn't all the Profiles be the same?  and if so, should I manually change them using Interpret ?

Maybe 'working space' is the same as Profile ? and they should all be sRGB ?

Or maybe photos should be sRGB and Video should be hdtv rec.709?

Thanks for reading and your advice,

Letty

Rec.709 should be the setting there. That is an entire profile that includes the sRGB primaries.

Hi Neil, Thanks for getting back to me......if you could please clarify your answer,  I'm confused.

1)  "Rec.709" should be in the Working Space?  (theres a few 709 choices, but I'm assuming it's the first on the drop down menu that reads: rec.709 Gamma 2.4

2) For the media video files (in the project window) Should I interpret all of those so the Profiles read "Rec.709 Gamma 2.4" ?  Some read "HDTV (Rec.709) 16-235"   and some read "sRGB"

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

Have a great evening,

Letty
