Project window comps under used greyed out.

On a newer version of AE Sometimes nested comps become greyed out when i click on the "used" selection near the comps info in the project window. Not sure why some are grey and some are not but its really messing with my workflow. Has anyone ran into this issue before?

I tried and tried to get it to fail. Seems to be working fine in the latest beta, and AE 23.4.0

Hard to say without any actual info on your project or for that matter screenshots of the whole thing and something useful as the composition flowchart for instance. From AE choking on resolving dependency on nested comps and such to mundane update issues due to caches I would imagine any number of things could go on. Anyway, impossible to say without more specific details, including an explanation of why it messes with your workflow so dramatically, system info and all that.

Sorry I can't show screenshots. I'm thinking there may be some instance where AE would grey out a comp for some specific reason or a setting I could change. I just went to look at the flowchart and nothing is loading, so maybe its just an install issue. Thanks
