Protected regions not working on Mogrt

Hi! I've read many threads with similar problems of AE templates not respecting the protected regions once imported in PR... however all the cases I've seen are related to the comps being too complex which is NOT the case here. In fact I made a fairly more complex comp first and the protected regions work perfectly in PR, allowing me to stretch the clip in the timeline at will... then I made this other, way simpler comp and for some reason the protected regions won't be detected in PR no matter what I do... can someone please help?

I attach both projects - the one which works even though is more complex, and the one which doesn't, even more is simpler.
