Question

PSD to AE color shift

Hello - I have a background image that is PSD in 16bit format. When I import in AE and place in comp it appears lighter. Same when I export. Do Comps or AE itself have color space limitations?

Thanks!

Ric

Nothing to do with AE doing something wrong. You need to understand that working with higher bit depths mandates working with color management, both in PS and AE. Time to read up on that stuff.

Thanks. I do understand that.

The thing is that the color profiles are the same and the Bit depths are higher or equal in AE As compared to Photoshop. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on.

What profiles? Project color space? Comp preview? Output profiles? A custom adjustment layer? Embedded profiles in the source files? Proof preview in PS? You need to be much more specific. Color management is a complex process and just arbitrarily setting teh same profile everywhere may not at all be the right way to proceed.

Bummer, that didn't do it. Still not getting the same colors as in PSD.

Ahl there it is. The Project was set to 8b. I'm hoping that this will resolve the issue...
