puppet tool, cant see mesh

trying to use the puppet tool here on a body part for my character

but the mesh cannot be seen

I think I have all the right things pressed.

any ideas?

The screenshot looks like you have applied Puppet Pin to a character rig. That is not a recommended workflow.

Soloing the problem layer will help. It is not really clear what you are trying to do. I think you are trying to distort the torso, but I'm not sure. It would also help if we could see the whole UI. I can't see the preview mode and I don't know what your display preferences are set to.
