Hello everyone, I'm working with an AE file of someone else. Since i'm not that experienced yet, I can't figure out what the diagonal lines are that show up under each layer. Can anybody tell me how I can edit de timing?

Correct answer ShiveringCactus

The tiny dotted lines?

That shows that the layer has been extended before it's start point.  If you were to add a solid as a layer half-way through, and drag the start point, then it would appear like this.  I'm trying to think of a case why somone would care about this, the only example I can think of is if you were to add the Timecode effect or the startTime expression:

thisComp.layer("Red Solid 1").startTime;

But still it exists and that's what it is used for.

Thank you for your answer.

It's indeed a slider where the color of the image changes when the image gets in de middle of the screen. I copied a layer because I need an extra image, but now I can't find how I can change the timing of the time remap. I want the time remap to start a few frames later. Can you please tell me how to do that?

When I click on the time remap - edit expression, the following text shows: timeRemap
