Quicktimes are one frame off - duplicated first frame
Is anyone else having this problem?
I imported a Quicktime reference movie from editorial to make sure that the plate was pulled properly.
I'm noticing that when I frame by frame through the QT it seems like the first frame is duplicated.
SO....I have to slip it one frame earlier to get it to sync with the plate. I've tried multiple QT's from editorial and they're all the same.
This is the the window from the QT movie inspector to show how the QT is encoded:
Is anyone else having this problem? Could it be how AE is handling the h.264?
I'm going to ping Adobe about this. I can't belive I'm the only one with this problem.
I also tried it in Premiere and I get the same result.
I did try taking the QT and running it through Compressor in a variety of different codecs and that seems to fix the duplicated/frozen first frame problem. ProRes changes the gamma though, Uncompressed does not change the gamma but makes a HUGE file, H.264 does not change the gamma.
I suppose that I could just re-encode all of them after I get them.....jeez....what a pain.
