Ram Cache
Hi there so I have a question what's the point of purging the memory (getting rid of the green lines) in after effects 2024 when after you do so the lines re populate meaning they fill back in using the ram cache and if they automatically do that every time I make a change and such what's the point of having that numb pad 0 button to render the timeline? I'm making a shiny metallic 3d text using 4 lights and the cinema 4d renderer and I notice my memory usage goes from 7gb and climbs to 25gb and just sits there and during this time the green bar is populating and I haven't even hit the numpad 0 button to do this ? It gets to a point where cinema 4d render crashes and the program just hangs up on me. I know you need a lot of ram since after effects is a ram eater but one 3d text doing some motion? I thought 32 gb would suffice. I remember seeing a window pop up when I first opened ae 2024 and rendered something it said something about if you want to shut off auto cache or something go to settings> something something but I haven't been able to find a thing. I turned off enable disk cache too but that wasn't it my understanding is disk cache is different from ram cache. Any help would be appreciated .
