Random Crashes in After Effects on High-End PC (Aurora R16, 14900kf, 4090, 64GB RAM)

Hey everyone,

I'm experiencing random crashes in After Effects on my Aurora R16 (Alienware) with the following specs:

CPU: Intel i9-14900KF
GPU: Nvidia RTX 4090
RAM: 64GB
OS: Windows 11

The crashes happen while previewing or moving elements around. Every time, I get a different error message, making it hard to pinpoint the issue.

Troubleshooting I've Tried:
Installed different Nvidia drivers (latest Studio drivers, factory-installed drivers, older Studio drivers)

Updated my BIOS

Used DDU to uninstall and perform a clean install of GPU drivers each time

Enabled/disabled Multi-Frame Rendering

Enabled/disabled CUDA

Ran Dell's hardware diagnostics, and everything checked out fine

The issue occurs in both After Effects 2024 and 2025. However, if I move my project to my Mac, it runs perfectly fine with no crashes.

At this point, I'm completely stuck. After Effects crashes every five minutes, making it impossible to work.

If anyone has any ideas or solutions, I’d really appreciate the help.

I'm attaching some of the crashes below–

Thanks in advance,

Hi Chris,

Are there any crash reports? Can you test if you're getting this issue with any other project? Based on the screenshot, could you go to Effect menu > Manage Effects > uncheck "Only Show Third-party Effects" > Search for the Fast Blur effect and disable it? Check if that brings any change.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Nishu

I did another clean install, so I don't have access to my crash files. And yes, I did try disabling that effect, but then something else happens and now that is an issue, etc.
