Question

Realtime changes issue when rendering through media encoder.

I queue up a project with image 1 in the encoder render, then I go back to the project and change it to image 2 while the first video is still rendering. The encoder changes image 1 to image 2 halfway through the first video. The problem is that for the last two years I have been working the same way and nothing changed in the real-time render if I changed something in the project, but now it changes. This has never happened before. I asked couple of buddies and they said that it worked always like that :/

When you say you’re queue-ing a project in Media Encoder, are you pointing media encoder to  your project or are you using Send to AME.  If it’s the latter, then as far as I know After Effects makes a copy of the project, which means any changes would definitely not be passed to the render.
But if you’re pointing AME to the project, I can see how changing the images during render would update.

I’ve only just seen your reply, apologies.

That’s a real headscratcher.  What happens if you open an old project, set it rendering and then change the image?  Same thing?
