Rectangle - Convert to Bezier Path - can't control individually anchor point?

I've converted a rectangle to bazier path by right clicking and selecting "Conver to Bezier Path", but I'm having trouble controlling each point individually.   Just doesn't work, I'm still controlling the whole rectangle.  What could be the problem?
