Reload File for MP3 does not work

Hi, I'm working with audio in my project and I'm simply trying to reload my audio file the quickest way.  I have tried both "reload and refresh footage" and even renamed my audio file and reuploaded it completely and switched out the old file to no avail.  This is one of the basic functions of this program and that is not working properly.  Any help is appreciated.

The specs of the mp3 file should not matter because this is a basic function any audio file should perform easily.  I'm taking my audio file from the project panel where any file you load is displayed and replacing it with the other mp3 file that is already loaded and placed into the composition timeline panel.  I'm on a Windows 10 machine but regardless of the specific audio specs or even the audio settings, replacing an audio file of any format should be an easy and basic function for any workflow.

I'm not exactly following your workflow. It sounds, from your description, like you are trying to replace the audio in your project panel with audio that you've already imported and placed in your composition...which can't happen. I'm fairly sure that's not actually what you are trying to do, but it is what you've said you're doing.

As you've aid, replacing footage should be fairly straightforward, so something is getting lost in translation somewhere. Could you please describe your workflow in more detail? Pictures or a video with you describing what you are doing would be great.

You have not provided any useful info liek exact specs of the files, where they are being used, system info, audio settings and so on. nobody can help you without those essentials.
