Render times

Hi!

I have a 23 second animation that took 4.5 hours to render.  I've attcahed the animation in question here as well as a screenshot of my computer specs and a screenshot of the After Effects Composition.  Any help would be greatly appreciated in how to reduce render time.  This seems extremely excessive and I'm sure I am doing something wrong that is causing it!

Start by checking whether you have enabled the C4D renderer in one of the comps or even the old Raytrace 3D from an imported older project. That could easily explain the render times on an otherwise simple project.

Can you guide me how to check that?  I did download a couple of projects from envato... that's where the leaves and christmas ornaments and snow came from...

I'm new to After Effects, so I'm not sure how to check for raytrace 3D or C4d renderer.  I will google it, but if you have some resource links, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

I checked the renderer.  It is set to classic 3D, but your question alluded to the fact that maybe the individual comps I imported from the downloaded project might be rendering with those settings, not just the main comp?  Do I check each one in the same way?

I just checked the snow comp and it looks suspect to me... It's called "Auto-traced Comp 1.mov" and has 104 mask layers....  Could this be the problem.  There are two comps like this...

Sorry for your issue.

Are you getting this issue with multiple projects? Which effects did you use? Also, did you use any thid-party plug-in in the project?

You could try After Effects beta version. It has Multiframe rendering that could help with the render time.

Hi there!  I did download a couple of projects from Envato... that's where the leaves and christmas ornaments and snow came from... I only imported those elements into the composition itself.

 

Also, all of the text came from a download and used an "easy edit viewer" extension to import it.

 

This is the only project that takes an insanely long time to render... It must be these outside elements, but I am not proficient enough to create these animations quickly on my own!

Any help is much appreciated!

I've got exact the same problem at the moment, insane rendering times on a 20 second project, also with a Envato template. Let me know if you found a solution!
