Rendered Timeline prevents Edits

Hi guys,

I have a bug which drives me a little crazy.

When the timeline played through fully and is now fully rendered,

I cannot edit the layers anymore. The only way to fix it, is to move the timeline needle to a random

position before I can edit the assets again. Extremely annoying...please watch the video attached.

You cannot see me clicking of course, but please rest assured, I am clicking around, trying different tools,

but nothing changes.

Kind Regards

Jannick

I'm not sure what you are trying to show in the video. It looks like you have Show Layer Controls hidden in the View Menu. I don't know what the circling selection tool over the bottom left of the comp panel is supposed to do. I cannot tell if you tried to select a layer and reveal any of the animated properties.

Please be very clear in your description of the problem. If you cannot select a layer and press 'p' to reveal the position property and edit it until you scrub the timeline let us know. If you turn on Show Layer Controls and you cannot see the layer outlines in the comp panel, let us know.

Hey Rick,

That's precisely the point. Show Path and Mask visibility is activated, and by clicking into the timeline, it deactivates itself. I am circling over the button 'Show Path and Mask visibility', to highlight it's now no longer active.

"It looks like you have Show Layer Controls hidden in the View Menu. "

I know! But I do not have it deactivated. That's the problem I am facing here.

Thank you
Jannick

Impossible to tell you much beyond the usual "Flush the caches and update your graphics driver/ check your GPU settings." Sure, we can see that it goes unresponsive, but since you haven't offer any system information or specific details about the project, we can only guess around. Could even be that one of the pre-comps is the actual culprit.

Hey Mylenium...

No that happens every single time, not project related. Flushed all Caches, manually as well...

Yes, guessing around is what we do here in the forum to figure it out for each other 😉
