Rendering issue mac: slowed video

I am fairly new to after effects and I'm completely stuck on this issue. When I render my video to QuickTime, it gets slowed down even though in the preview the video is playing in normal time. I've tried lowering the quality and resolution but nothings works. Could this be because the file is simply too big for my Mac? Or does it have anything to do with my settings?

If you are using the default Lossless Output Module preset you are rendering to a production format the probably will not playback in real-time. If you want a delivery format the standard right now is an H.264 MP4 that can be rendered easily using the Adobe Media Encoder.

Lossless files are intended for use as Digital Intermediates. They are interframe compressed, visually lossless formats designed specifically to not lose any data and they can be re-compressed over and over without any quality loss.

Delivery formats are almost always h.264 MPEG interframe compressed, 8-bit RGB only color compressed in blocks of 4 pixels, and at the very best settings only 1 out of every 4 frames is a full frame. The others are predicted and it's amazing that the scheme even works. MP4 files always lose quality if you use them as a source file and compress them again.

Spend some time in the User Guide. There are tutorials there about rendering. Then spend some more time learning about video standards and formats. Until you have a good understanding of the tools it is very likely that fiddling with the controls and creating custom settings is going to foul up your render.

Thank u for helping! I did try exporting it trough media encounter but the same thing still happens, I'm so exhausted honestly and I really don't know what to do. Could QuickTime be the problem?

It would have to be pretty big for it to play back smoothly at the wrong speed on QuickTime.

Are you rendering directly from AfterEffects or going through MediaEncoder?

What is the frame rate that you're exporting with? Does it match your comp?

What is your preview frame rate?

I am exporting directly from after effects yes. I have everything set to the best quality. In the preview the frame rate is set to 60, which I have put in the render settings as well but still no luck.
