repair After Effects after a revert to 15.0

I just reverted After Effects because 15.1 gave me a lot of problems as I couln't open quicktime files anymore. . I also reverted Media Encoder, but after I reverted After Effects. Now the Queue in AME button is greyed out. I assume After Effects hasn't got a direct link anymore because AME was installed afterwards?!? How can I repair or reinstall After Effects, only way I find is to upgrade or downgrade to older versions, not reinstall current version.

Please help.

I'd do a complete uninstall of the Adobe CC applications, run the Adobe Cleaner app, and THEN reinstall all the CC version of your choice.

And wasn't it thoughtful of Adobe to drop the evisceration of Quicktime like a 500-pound bomb from a stealth fighter?  No stinkin' warning for people who have literally DECADES of Quicktime video accumulated!

"Oh, but we did state our intentions.  Here's the link."

Right.   A two line mention buried in somebody's blog, no doubt.  As if busy users have nothing better to do than to wait for wait on pins & needles for the next pronouncement buried somewhere on the web site.

Adobe really treats its users like they're something the software engineers accidentally stepped in.  The bastards.  I hope and pray someone comes up with a viable & affordable alternative to After Effects.  Then I won't have to deal with this cesspool of a company any more.

If you're under an Adobe NDA, you can ignore this.  They like you.  It's grunts like Don Barrum & me they treat like dirt.

I agree, I always read the "what's new" on Adobe page and the what's new under the description in the CC app - trying to find what's new before updating. Nowhere did any of this pop up which I saw at least, despite it should have been stated in big fat red letters!.

I take it a step further -- I stay a version behind.  A fully-updated Creative Cloud 2017 works pretty darn well.  Think about it if you don't need the sparkly new features.

And if you've been using Adobe products for a while, I'm surprised you weren't aware that EVERY big change breaks things that previously worked just fine.
