Reposition and object and it's motion path

Hello

 

How do I move an object (in my case logo) AND it's associated motion path in the After Effects Compostion window?

 

I'm selecting the layer and repostioning with my mouce, but it's causing the motion path to bounce.  I want to move the motion parth relative to the object.

The easiest thing to do is to add a null to the timeline, then parent everything you want to move to the null and then move the null. This will keep all of the motion paths the same shape but it will allow you to reposition everything without fouling up the motion path.

    Thank you Rick.  I am fairly new to After Effects - so will have do do some research into this Null business, though I get the gist.
