Requirements to use After Effect

Can somebody help me with this topic please?

I am totally new to these kind of powerful programs and I downlaoded the free trial of after effects on my pc, but it is running extremely slow, I guess my hardware is not enough. What should I do? buy a new gpu? thank you very much
