Resize a solid referenced by multiple comps

Hello, if change the size of a solid in a comp, after effects creates a new copy of the solid, keeping references to the original the same in all other comps.

Is there a way to swap out a solid/change the size of a referenced solid or adjustment layer?

I do not mean when you select something in the project manager then swap it with the selected layer in the currently opened comp. I mean like how you would resize a comp which is used in various other comps, they are all still pointing to that same comp.
