responsive position of clip and text

When I browse through the essential graphic templates that come with adobe premiere I find some nice lower thirds. They offer more changeable element than I can get out of after effects.
How do I add the possibility to align a clip to the right of a text (there is this cross like option where you can align it to another element)?
