Roto Brush "Best" Setting keeps crashing

Whenever I use the roto brush tool and switch the settings from "standard" to "best", After Effects crashes. This happens consistantly and I have to stick to using "standard" quality.

 

I have a Macbook Pro with the M1 Pro chip and running the latest version of AE. 

 

Does anybody else have this issue?

    Yes!!!! This is terrible; I haven't been able to work like this for a long time

      same problem (macOS 13.1 and AE 23.1.0)

       

      and thanks for the tip - quality "Standard" is working for me...
