ROTO BRUSH does not select, but..

IOS 15.5 (24F74), After Effects 25.6.0

Instead of Roto-brushing I am just drawing a box without selcting anything. I did everything ChatGPT asked me to do - delete cache, reset the settings and it is still the same... please help!!
