Roto brush refine edge tool results in a red contour

I used the Roto Brush Tool to remove the background of a video. It worked. I also used the Refine Edge Tool to refine around  the hair lines. Then I got this red contour when propagated and rendered. What could be the possible cause? How to correct this? Thanks for any help!
