Rotobrush span not seen

Question

Morning allI am trying to remove the background of a video using rotobrush by following instruction on a youtube channel. The video asks to greag the grey bar (span - highlighted in red in my pic below) to the length of the video.However, I cannot see the grey bar on my AE window. Any help os greatly appreciated. Best wishesPF

unless you start using the roto brush you will not be able to see this bar, so be sure you use the roto brush then the bar will be appear on your screen. also be sure you're on layer view window and not on the composition view window (double click in your footage first to go to the layer view window )
