RotoBrush Tool Comp to ProRes4444 PreRender to .psd. After Effects remembers the original background

Hi,

I had a strange ocurance.

I used the RotoBrush Tool to remove a background and prerendered the comp as ProRes4444 with alpha. When I brought that prerender back into After Effects it showed up as transparent, however, it remembered the original background when I exported to .psd image sequence. Quick preview in finder showed the images as having transparency but when opening them in Illustrator or Photoshop the removed background was present.

Exporting as a .png sequence resolved my issue but that is not necessarily ideal.

Has there been some sort of change I am unaware of?

After Effects 22.0.1

Mac Pro 2013

macOS Big Sur 11.6

Channels and transparency have a different meaning in PSDs. This is pretty much expected. simply use other formats like TIFF or PNG as you already did.
