Question

Rotobrush tool does not work

Hello everyone,

The rotobrush tool won't work on this rush in .mov. I tried adjusting the sequence parameters, emptying the cache memory, using an older version of the rotobrush tool, installing the 25.0 version instead of the latest version, using proxies...

Nothing worked at the moment, the brush does not affects the render.

My configuration is a M1 MacBook Air with 8Go of RAM. I know it's not the best but it worked great until now..

Thank you so much for your help,

Alexis

@Sébastien Périer17107209 @Rick Gerard [IMPORTANT]

I am really sorry, I found the issue : I simply forgot I had a time remap on Premiere, as I used the bridge.

I exported the slowed-down footage and it all works great now.

Sorry I didn't pay enough attention, thank you so much for your kind help !

Alexis

@Rick Gerard Thank you Rick, I did not know that. It is a .mov footage straight out of camera (Fuji XT-30). I'll try exporting the footage to another format. Here is a screen capture of the rotobrush not working : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZZSz2UwJ0ICuV4Lgn51O4JHB0gJwSV0o/view?usp=sharing

Sorry, I was not able to upload the capture on the platform even though it respects the size norms.

Hello Seb,

Thank you for your help ! I am using AE 25.6.4 and I tried downgrading to 25.0, with no success. I am on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5.

I am sending you the footage through a DM.

Thank you so much,

Alexis

What movie? No screenshot, no sample. Rotobrush will not work on all footage. You have to shoot or pick footage that is compatible with the tool.

Hi Alexis,

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with Rotobrush.

I'm Seb, from the After Effects team, and I'd like to try to reproduce your issue on our side.

Would you mind sharing with me, through a DM, the piece of footage you're trying to Roto?

I'll try to repro on an M1 with 8gb of RAM.
Can you tell me which exact version of AE you are using, and which version of Mac OS you have.
