Rotoscope in the background

Is there a way to just rotoscope in the background?
For the most part I get decent results with the new rotoscoping, but clicking it, then going off to take a break is cramping my workflow. Is there anyway of rotoscopping, then doing other stuff while the roto is finishing?

Potentially the multiframe rendering feature could be used to such effect one day, but at this point in time the simple answer is no. You have to sit and wait.
