Scrolling Text Around Shape

Hello, I am trying to do a simple text scroll around a shape. In all of the tutorials I have watched I am told that in order to fill the shape with text I can just select the text then copy and paste it until I am satisfied with the amount of text. I am running into a problem and haven't seen any problems posted / solutions about it. Every time I select the text and copy/paste it, it eventually hits a wall, like it is the end of the text box.

Not sure what the issue is as it seems like all of the videos I've seen have had no issue copy/pasting.

There are two ways to make text in AE when using the Text tool.

Point Text: Click and release your cursor.

Area Text: Click and drag with your cursor.

I have found that text on a path in AE works best when using point text. Area text can end up with text hidden. I don't know if that is the issue but it may be.

Solution would be remake the layer as point text.

Your top right corner on the path looks scrunched up, so that alone could be the issue simply because the path length isn't calculated correctly due to a tangent going off into space.
