Select all select target folder in render queue no longer working

Hey gang.  Loooong time user (gosh i remember After Effects 4 I am old).

So I'm on 23.6 and suddenly I can't select-all in the render queue and click to set all renders to the same output folder.  Now I gotta click each output one by one... or set up some sort of "output to" preset which is a pain and doesn't even work really if your output folders have different structures per project.

 

Is there a reason we can no longer simply select all and click to set the output folder for everything?  This is the way it has worked forever and messing with output directories is the last thing I have time for on deadline...

Hi!  So I just updated to the latest Ventura patch on mac os and my render queue in AEP is working again!  (select all now allows you to set a folder for everything in the queue doing it one time).

 

I just updated to Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313).

 

Not sure if maybe apple changed something?  Anyhow, thank you for your attention to this matter it's greatly appreciated!

oh dang sorry i posted too soon.  i realize it selected all with the export render settings and NOT 'output to' folder.  oops.  still an issue.  not seeing a way to delete my comment above.  sorry!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 

I am curious if you noticed when this stopped working for you? We did some updates to tokens last year about this time and possibly touched some other areas in the RQ that might have changed this behavior. We will look into it internally though to determine where the behavior changed and look at ways to address it.

Wow -- THANK YOU so much for this reply.  VERY much appreciate you guys looking into this!  I wish I had more information to share that could be helpful.  I basically wrote about the issue the day it occurred for me.  I'm a daily user of After Effects, and I know for certain it was working fine (select all to pick output folder) until the day I wrote.

 

I'm on a mac running Ventura 13.6.  I **believe** I also recently installed a Ventura update that might have corresponded with the change in functionality.  So I'm curious if maybe the latest mac OS could be part of the issue??  But I'm guessing.

Just trying this locally. I put the same comp in the RQ three times.  Did a select all, and I also noticed the scenario you mentioned when you couldn't update the output uniformally after these steps. I could change Render Settings, Output Module, Log, and Notify check all while seleted. After I had changed the Output Module while having all selected, I could uniformally update the Output To: value. Is this the same behavior you have experienced?
