Set directory per project for After Effects

Is there way to set the directory per project in after effects. In some other programs like Autodesk Maya for example, you can set the project directory to a folder that contains all of the assets, so every time that particular scene is opened, Maya can be set to set all import/export directories to that particular project folder. In After Effects when I change projects, the import and render queue directories always default to the last place rendered to or imported from, instead of the project folder I am currently working in. It would be nice to open a file and have to render queue and import box to default to the folder I am working out of. Maya generates a script file in the project folder and that links the scene file with all the assets. Is there a way to do this in after effects? Does any one know of any scripts that do this in AE?

Not that I know of. It's irritating. I sometimes mitigate the irritation by copying the file path when I'm in the area and pasting it into the import dialog when I get back into AE, but...

Perhaps you should file a feature request here.

You can set relative file path templates in After Effects as your default in the render queue.

I guess that works for rendering, but no solutions for imports then?
