Set Matte is Leaving a Thin Outline

I've looked at other posts on here and have tried everything. However,  I keep having this issue. I am rendering 2D characters, however, when I use the set matte feature to give the characters bangs (I use this feature so that I can use a facial null to make it appear that the character is turning their head) it leaves the faintest outline where the "Head" shape is. I included a few screenshots to hopefully help with understanding what is going on.

Well, after weeks of trying to figure this out. I figured it out. I am going to leave this post up though in hopes it helps others.

The solution is to add to your set matte layer a Curves effect from the Color Correction section in Effects. You want to set the channel to Alpha and then pull the middle of the curve NorthWest. This get's rid of the weird outline. And still allows it to work perfectly fine as a set matte for animating.
