Shape and Text doesn't appear. After Effect

I'm having a weird problem here. I'm a total newbie for after effect. I'm trying to add a new shape and text into the scene. But it doesn't appear on the scene except if I change it to 3D layer or hide all other layers. And if I put 3D layer on it, effects doesn't work.Please help. Thank you.

You have switched your comp to the "Front" view, which of course is only meant for 3D work. Set it to "Active Camera".
