Shape layer from text layer

Hey there,

so i created a shape layer out of text layer.

i animate some properties for each letter: Offset path 1 : amount and Transform : scale and position

now i want to link the original text layer to apply changes (writing something else) to the shape layer While keeping the animation values.

so if my original text layer was 'world' and i create a shape layer out of it, and then change the text layer to 'Peace' it will change the shape layer. 
is it even possible?
