Question

Shape layer wiggle fall off on a path

Good morning Sunday

Hopefully a simple one.

Please see the image attached. I have made the 'tentacles' using paths. I'm tryign t o work out if its possible to add a fall off or some kind of ramping to how wiggle paths distributes the wiggle over the path.

I'd liek to think i can make the left end (the staring point) straight and then the ends that are in close contact to the red Ellipse, how you see them in this image. So there is a gradual visual change from one end to the other.

Is there something in the shap layer toolkit so i can do this, or even highlight path points over time to control it better.

thanks people

Nope, not possible. You have to use other methods to add motion to your tentacles which could include a well-tuned Lightning effect, conventional mask/ shape animation or third-party plug-ins like Plexus. In any case, you have to do it differently and put in more work.

I have some great animation set up, this lack of falloff is the downer really. I might just have to set up what i need then rebuild in C4D using a mp4 background for position.

thanks for your feedback guys, i kind of thought it was a limited route, but great to hear from you guys:)

Unfortunately there is no option to fallof/smooth in a portion using the wiggle paths modifier direclty in After Effects. It would be great if Adobe lets us to add wiggle path between segments (a segment between 2 path points)
